Students Discover New Careers During Industrial Automation Day

Our Career Education staff worked together with our Industrial Technology team to host a Virtual Automation Day on Thursday, April 30. Prospective students interested in engineering, electronics, and robotics got to learn more about the career opportunities available through our baccalaureate program.

The virtual panel featured department chair Jason Dixon, counselor Cynthia Quintanilla, Financial Aid Administrator Lysander Ramos, Carlos Medina and Freddie Rodriguez from Career Education, and educational advisor Mark Jensen. Student also got the chance to hear from companies like Wonderful Citrus, Tasteful Selections, and StanTech.

Guest speaker Richard Chapman, CEO of the Kern Economic Development Corporation, emphasized the importance of BC's Industrial Automation program to bolster our future workforce with the skills they need to innovate. Phillips 66 Training Technician Edwind Marroquin shared his success story as a former student in Industrial Automation and encouraged them to achieve within the program.
