BC's EOP&S/AB540/LUPE students attended a university excursion to Fresno State University and participated in the EDGE Challenge Ropes Course. With Student Success in mind, the trip emphasized college awareness and access through university exposure. Students learned about the transfer process/requirements, Fresno State EOP Program, Dream Resource Center, FAFSA/CADAA options, Student Life, and majors/careers. In addition to learning about academic and support programs, participants completed the EDGE (Experientially Designed Group Effort) Challenge Ropes Course which emphasized leadership development, teamwork, self-esteem, creativity, and effective interpersonal communication skills. Students engaged in energizing activities through a series of low-level initiatives that encouraged problem-solving, trust, and cooperation. Our students were enthusiastic about the Fresno State visit and returned believing in their transfer goals.

Special thanks to the EOPS Program, AB540/USP Program, and the Office of Student Life staff that made this trip possible. Shout out to Luz Vega (AB540 Advisor) who served as a chaperone and role model for our students.
