In the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, the City of Bakersfield has partnered with Kern College Community District - Bakersfield College Launchpad, CSU Small Development Business Center, and the Kern County Black Chamber of Commerce in a commitment to supporting the entrepreneurial spirit and fostering economic recovery within our community. Recognizing the unique challenges faced by entrepreneurs, start-ups, and small businesses, we are proud to announce our City of Bakersfield Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Technical Assistance and Grant Program designed specifically for those who were disproportionately impacted by the pandemic.

The City of Bakersfield Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Technical Assistance and Grant Program is a visionary initiative aimed at providing crucial support to local minority-based businesses in need. With a comprehensive understanding of the vital role played by small enterprises in driving our city's economy, this grant aims to empower and uplift the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Through this grant, eligible entrepreneurs, start-ups, and small businesses located within the designated Qualifying Census Tracts (QCTs) will have access to much-needed financial assistance. We understand that navigating the complexities of starting or maintaining a business can be daunting, especially during these challenging times. That's why we are offering a helping hand, providing the resources and support necessary to succeed. There are 163 grants ranging from $5,000 - $40,000.

In partnership with Bakersfield College Launchpad, the City of Bakersfield Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Technical Assistance and Grant Program not only offers financial aid but also provides invaluable guidance and mentorship through our network of industry professionals and experts. This also includes providing resources and educational workshops at no cost to help small businesses grow. We believe that by nurturing these enterprises, we are fostering a resilient and vibrant business community, strengthening the fabric of our city.

We invite entrepreneurs, start-ups, and small business owners in Qualifying Census Tracts or those within the personal income threshold to seize this opportunity for growth and development. Together, we will overcome the obstacles brought about by the pandemic and emerge stronger than ever.

Join us in building a thriving and inclusive economic landscape in the City of Bakersfield. Together, we will create a brighter future for our community. Apply for the City of Bakersfield Technical Assistance Ecosystem Grant and let us support you on your entrepreneurial journey.
