Free Rides for Students on Kern Transit

Kern Transit has historically offered free bus fares for Bakersfield College Students for the last 5 or 6 years, and they plan to offer that again this academic year. Currently, everyone rides free on their buses systemwide until August 31, 2023. Then, starting on September 1, 2023, everyone will have to start paying fares again, but all students will ride free as long as they show a student ID to the bus driver when boarding.
In the past, Kern Transit had limited the free fares for students promotion to only their 100-numbered routes, but now the promotion is open to every single Kern Transit route and even their Dial-A-Ride.
