Bakersfield College is thrilled to announce the installation of the first of four off-grid electric vehicle charging stations, known as the EVEN Recharge Hub, as part of a groundbreaking initiative funded by the Kern Council of Governments (Kern COG). This delivery underscores Bakersfield College's commitment to enhancing the educational landscape for future Electric Vehicle Technicians in the State of California.

The EVEN Recharge Hub is a cutting-edge electric vehicle charging station that is designed to operate entirely off the grid, reducing its environmental footprint and enabling efficient, eco-friendly charging for up to four electric vehicles. This revolutionary project was made possible through the generous grant funding provided by Kern COG, a visionary organization dedicated to improving transportation and fostering sustainable solutions in Kern County.

Bakersfield College is honored to have played an instrumental role in this initiative. The college has committed to providing comprehensive educational training and skill-building programs to support the ongoing maintenance and repair of electric vehicle charging stations. By doing so, Bakersfield College aims to contribute significantly to the growth of a skilled workforce capable of servicing the State of California's expanding electric vehicle infrastructure.

The EVEN Recharge Hub and the training programs at Bakersfield College represent our dedication to building a sustainable and technologically advanced future for California. We are thrilled to provide our students with opportunities to become the skilled technicians needed to keep our state's electric vehicle charging stations running smoothly."

The installation of the first EVEN Recharge Hub is just the beginning of an exciting journey toward a greener, more sustainable future for Bakersfield College and the community it serves. The forthcoming charging stations will help meet the growing demand for electric vehicle charging infrastructure in Kern County, facilitating cleaner transportation choices and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
