Bakersfield College’s Department of College Safety will once again be hosting free RAD (Rape Aggression Defense) Training, a comprehensive program open to all female students and staff. This initiative is part of the college's ongoing commitment to creating a safe and secure campus environment.

RAD Training is designed to empower individuals with practical self-defense techniques, risk awareness, and personal safety strategies. The program aims to enhance confidence, situational awareness, and physical preparedness in a supportive and empowering environment. Regardless of previous self-defense experience, all female staff and students are invited to participate, whether they are seasoned athletes or just beginning their fitness journey.

The RAD Training will consist of two sessions, both of which participants must attend to complete the program. The sessions will take place on March 29th from noon to 4:00PM and March 30th from 8:00AM to 5:00PM. Sign-ups are currently being accepted at the Office of College Safety, and through the Online Registration Form. For additional information, interested individuals can call 661-395-4554.

Assistant Director of College Safety at Bakersfield College, Carlos Rios, expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming RAD Training, stating, "The safety and well-being of our students and staff are of utmost importance to us. RAD Training provides valuable skills and knowledge to enhance personal safety, and we encourage all eligible individuals to take advantage of this opportunity to empower themselves."

If you are not able to attend the March sessions, there will be another RAD Training on April 19th and 20th.
